A successful Show day!
Many members were much in evidence in stewarding, selling raffle tickets and produce, demonstrating spinning and publicising our W.I. Another community event where members gave assistance and refreshment, was the British Legion Exhibition in Warkworth War Memorial Hall. Both events enabled people to have a preview of elements of the Poppy Project before it reaches fruition in November.
Some members met in August to take a walk to the Harbour Village in Amble, where we met others to share refreshments in the sun.
In July, 26 members met for a meal at The Coach in Lesbury where we enjoyed a pleasant summer’s evening in good company, with frequent visits to the bar to report back on the England v Colombia World Cup match.
Warkworth W.I. have been out and about and busy. 2 members attended the Centenary celebration of Northumberland Federation at Northumberlandia and a small group went to Ulgham W.I. to be entertained by Helene Dolder’s show “Ladies who Laugh”. President, Serena, and guest, went to help Amble W.I. commemorate 100 years since the W.I. was first founded in the town. 8 members joined Amble W.I. on their coach trip to Bowes Museum and Barnard Castle and had a good day out, despite being met there with torrential rain!
Windy day at Northumberlandia!
